The Energy Coalition’s Business Partnerships connect local businesses with their serving utilities to address the specific challenges businesses face in reducing energy usage, lowering utility bills, cutting greenhouse gas emissions and educating tenants, management, and facility operations personnel.
Since the early 1980’s, The Energy Coalition has been working with utilities and businesses across the United States and in Europe to develop Energy Cooperatives. Building on previous cooperative’s lessons, the Bay Area’s Business Energy Coalition stands as a premier example of the power of the group to reduce peak energy demands. By lessening peak demand, businesses reap the individual benefits, but they also help to establish more reliable electricity transmission, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and limit the threat of blackouts.
