What is PEAK?
PEAK is an environmental education program designed to empower students with the knowledge to manage energy use in their homes, schools and communities. Through hands-on learning, students are inspired to take action to create a more sustainable world, to educate others about how to use energy wisely, and to pursue green careers.
PEAK is a vibrant energy education program that offers:
- Comprehensive Science Curriculum Correlated to 3rd through 7th Grade Academic Content Standards
- Professional development for educators
- A Toolkit Containing Supplies Needed to Teach PEAK’s Hands-On Lessons (Valued at Over $300)
- Educational assemblies, classroom assistance, instructional planning, special events and more!
PEAK is currently available to 3rd through 7th grade teachers in the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company, and San Diego Gas and Electric Company service territories.

PEAK is a partnership among The Energy Coalition, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company, San Diego Gas and Electric Company and the schools, districts, and hundreds of education providers engaged in the program.
What are the Outcomes?
The Energy Coalition’s PEAK program has a long-lasting impact on youth and their families, helping households save energy and money while instilling an environmental ethic that lasts a lifetime.
TEC Leadership
The Energy Coalition is a leader in the field of energy education, providing PEAK curriculum development and program implementation expertise to schools throughout California. In 2010, The Energy Coalition’s PEAK Program was awarded the Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award for the Best Children’s Environmental Education Program.
