PEAK Northern Illinois
PEAK Northern Illinois is administered by The Energy Coalition and supported by The Northern Illinois Energy Project (NIEP). NIEP is a partnership of the Citizens’ Utility Board, the City of Chicago, and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office created to support innovative programs that promote energy conservation and reduce electricity costs for residential customers of ComEd. In a three year project (2005-2008), PEAK will educate approximately 7,000 3rd-8th grade students throughout 9 counties in ComEd service territory.
In addition to the PEAK curriculum, toolkits and school fundraising opportunities offered by all PEAK programs, PEAK Northern Illinois provides Saving Energy @ School audits and investments toward increasing energy efficiency at school facilities.
