What is CEEPMS — Cities of Santa Monica and Brea?
Community Energy Efficiency Project Management System (CEEPMS) is a new, innovative database/software system that provides local governments with tools to track and report community-wide energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) improvements.
CEEPMS expands energy project tracking beyond just municipal projects. CEEPMS intergrates with most local government online permit systems as a separate module in order to provide customized tracking, calculations, and reporting features of energy and GHG reductions for reporting and requirments. In addition to streamlining internal local government tracking and reporting of energy projects, CEEPMS benefits homeowners and business owners by providing relevant rebate/incentive information (utilities, city, state and federal) that fit their project. CEEPMS reaches property owners and contractors when permit applications are submitted to provide a final opportunity for the project scope to be reviewed and/or upgraded to rebate requirements and to improve energy savings.
Who are the Partners?
The partners are Southern California Edison, City of Santa Monica, City of Brea and The Energy Coalition.
What are the Outcomes?
The CEEPMS module will be replicable and available for other local governments within SCE service territory to intergrate with their online permit system. CEEPMS will also provide local governments with energy savings and GHG calculations on community projects to assist with City reporting requirements and will influence property owners and/or contractors to upgrade their permit requests for higher energy savings and apply for rebates.
TEC developed the CEEPMS concept and is managing the development, implementation and testing with the Cities of Santa Monica and Brea.
