The Energy Coalition (TEC) is thrilled to announce that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded our Pomona ACTS demonstration project with funds to add an exciting new direct-to-renter offering!
Historically, clean energy upgrades have mostly been accessible only to property owners. Now, with this award, TEC will be able to bring energy-saving and resiliency perks of advanced home technologies to renters, too. Participants will receive advanced home energy technologies, including:
- Battery storage to provide critical community support, even during power outages.
- Heat pump air conditioning for increased energy efficiency and improved resilience to high heat events.
- Induction cooktops to promote healthier and more efficient cooking.
A huge congratulations to the Pomona ACTS project and the incredible local partners who are making this project possible: Mayor Tim Sandoval, the City of Pomona, Day One, and the Latino and Latina Roundtable of the San Gabriel and Pomona Valley. We can’t wait to get started!
