TEC’s Workforce Development Efforts Featured in AESP’s Energy Intel

As California accelerates its transition to clean energy, the Inland Empire is emerging as a critical hub for workforce development. With energy sector jobs projected to grow by nearly 20% by 2030, the region has a major opportunity to connect residents to stable and well-paying careers if workforce gaps are addressed.

In AESP’s recent Energy Intel feature, “Building Energy Workforce Pathways and Career Opportunities for California’s Inland Empire,” we provide an overview of both the momentum and challenges ahead.

  • A hiring boom with a skills gap: Demand for energy workers is rising, but employers struggle to find qualified candidates.

  • Alignment is the game changer: Regional partners, including I-REN, are working to better connect employers, educators, and workforce programs to create clearer, more equitable pathways into energy careers.
