Building a Future-Ready Workforce: TEC Awarded Needs Assessment Contract with I-REN

California is building a brighter future powered by clean energy, and skilled workers are the key to unlocking its potential! There are tons of opportunities in clean energy and energy efficiency, but we don’t have enough trained professionals to fill them.

The Inland Regional Energy Network (I-REN) is stepping up to the challenge. They want to provide pathways to high-quality training for local communities in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. To make sure these programs hit the bullseye, I-REN and The Energy Coalition are joining forces!

TEC is conducting a deep dive to identify any existing gaps in training resources and recommend how I-REN can bridge them. We’re particularly excited to focus on training accessibility for underserved workers, ensuring a clean and thriving future for all Californians.

“We’re so excited about deepening our partnership with I-REN by supporting their workforce development efforts,” said Meaghan Laverty, Director of Marketing, Education and Outreach at The Energy Coalition. “With the insights from our market assessment, I-REN can create programs that help workers to thrive in an equitable clean energy future.”

Together, I-REN and TEC are paving the way for a skilled, diverse workforce that will power the Inland region’s energy future. Learn more about our approach to workforce development here. And don’t forget to visit the I-REN website to learn more about their latest programs!
