TEC Launching New Environmental Justice Literacy Project to Support Workforce Development

TEC Partners with Rising Sun Center for Opportunity

Not only do Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities have to contend with environmental racism that makes their communities disproportionately polluted, they also face challenges securing careers in the mostly white clean energy industry. Green jobs give youth an opportunity for economic growth and personal fulfillment.

That’s why TEC is proud to announce we are partnering with Rising Sun Center for Opportunity, a California nonprofit that specializes in preparing youth, women, and individuals in reentry for high-road careers with family-sustaining wages. Together, TEC and Rising Sun are developing educational and training activities to increase environmental justice literacy for youth who are conducting Green House Calls in Stockton and nine other Bay Area communities.
