TEC Partners with BayREN to Simplify Regulatory Reporting

California’s energy industry is constantly evolving, with new technologies and regulatory requirements that can make it tough for organizations like BayREN, the Bay Area Regional Energy Network, to keep up with all the latest, especially when it comes to reporting.

That’s where TEC comes in! With a long history of supporting regional energy networks, TEC has just announced a new contract with BayREN to help them navigate the complexities of regulatory reporting to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and other regulatory bodies. This partnership will allow BayREN to focus on its mission of creating a cleaner and more resilient Bay Area, while TEC handles the nitty-gritty of ensuring regulatory compliance.

“California’s regulatory landscape can be a real challenge,” explained Laurel Rothschild, Vice President at The Energy Coalition. “We’re here to help BayREN demystify the process and ensure their programs are meeting the latest reporting requirements.”

Under the new contract, TEC will provide BayREN with a range of technical and regulatory reporting support services, including:

  • Ensuring BayREN’s workpapers and technical documentation meet CPUC requirements.
  • Helping BayREN prepare its business plan, portfolio application, and other regulatory filings.
  • Developing a consistent method for tracking and attributing energy savings to BayREN programs.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the CPUC.

This partnership is a win-win: BayREN gets the support it needs to stay on top of the latest regulations, while TEC gets to use our expertise to further our mission and help BayREN make clean energy more affordable and accessible for all.
