Energy is Everything Reached Over 34,000 Students Across California in 2022

Highlights from Energy is Everything’s 2022 Impact Report

Energy is Everything is TEC’s flagship education program, designed to inspire students of all kinds to make sustainability a part of their everyday lives. In 2022, Energy is Everything connected with 7,732 underserved schools across every part of California. We exceeded our annual participation goal; over 450 educators joined in and shared our programs with their students. What’s more, over nine in ten educators reported satisfaction with their experience!

With the help of those 450 educators, along with our energy fellow and field educators, we reached just over 34,000 students in 2022.  Students who participated in our programs had a 40% increase in knowledge of STEM, energy efficiency, and integrated demand side management technologies. Thanks to Energy is Everything lessons, they are now 30% more aware of energy career pathways.

Since Energy is Everything operates in traditionally underserved schools and communities, we’ve developed our curriculum with diversity, equity, and inclusion in mind. Language is chosen with care; terms such as “home,” “family,” or “an adult in the home” replace “parents,” “house,” or others that can create an undertone of exclusion. In 2022, we made our curriculum even more accessible by making 100% of student and family materials available in Spanish.

"I want to express my gratitude to you for helping me be the best educator I can be. The lessons and materials have provided an amazing learning experience for all my students. As a bilingual teacher, I spend a lot of time researching—and many times translating— engaging materials. Now, I can dedicate my time to differentiate and better support my students." -Energy is Everything participating educator

We’re proud of all that we accomplished in 2022, but we are even more excited to reach more educators, students, families, and communities in 2023. Visit energy-is-everything.org to access free sample lessons, view our impact report, and learn more about our energy education resources.
