TEC selected for first-of-its-kind program to support clean, convenient, accessible mobility

Partnering with Green Commuter, the City of South El Monte, and ActiveSGV to improve clean transportation

The Energy Coalition, Green Commuter, the City of South El Monte, and ActiveSGV have received one of only 24 vouchers from the Clean Mobility Options Voucher Pilot Program (CMO) to install eight Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) chargers, launch an electric vehicle carsharing program in South El Monte, and conduct community outreach to spread the word about these new resources in the community.

“Access to electric vehicles and EV chargers in South El Monte and the surrounding areas is limited, but this project will help residents and visitors to South El Monte get where they need to go without relying on fossil fuels. We are excited to partner with Green Commuter, the City of South El Monte, and ActiveSGV to address barriers to clean mobility,” said Craig Perkins, Executive Director of The Energy Coalition.

CMO is funded by California Climate Investments (CCI), a program that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy and improving public health and the environment — particularly in disadvantaged communities like South El Monte.
