During the Great Depression, the United States created a Civilian Conservation Corps program to conserve natural resources and provide meaningful jobs for workers. Today, in response to the climate crisis and the need for economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, California has launched a similar effort called the California Climate Action Corps.
California Climate Action Corps is the first statewide corps of its kind. Its mission is to empower Californians to protect their homes, health and communities against the harshest impacts of climate change. TEC is proud to partner with Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) to recruit Fellows and place them with community based organizations so they can learn valuable green career skills and help resource-constrained organizations do meaningful work to support California’s climate initiatives. TEC is excited to support fellows and ensure their success during the Corps’s first Summer season.
